Floral Bouquet IV embodies so many of the lessons I've learned from working on this collection. I referred to the early variations to remind me about the arrangement of shapes and colors in this complex floral arrangement. And when I scaled it up to this larger painting surface, it became much easier to group tiny shapes into larger shapes and apply thick paint with a palette knife. I especially enjoyed painting in the white flowers! I exaggerated the warm pinks and cool purples and blues in the white petals to make them feel more alive and vibrant.
