Sunflower Bouquet is the second painting I made for this collection. This time the I used the first layer of the painting as a value study, blocking in the shadows with thin transparent paint. Adding this step to the process felt much easier for me to build up new layers of color on top. Painting on a larger surfaces felt more free and exciting. When I finished, I knew I could keep pushing the sizes of future paintings.
