In Iris III, I wanted to get better at using color to recreate the folds within the flower petals. I took more time to build up  transparent glazes in the magenta petals. I discovered that each glaze layer has to fully dry before I could apply the next layer. The effect is a smooth glow, which I like as a stark contrast to the chunky brushy strokes in the purple petals.
