With Iris I, I wanted to compare whether I preferred painting big floral arrangements versus individual flowers. Using fluid acrylic paint and a more modern paint palette felt fast and smooth. The colors seemed to glow as I mixed them together. Applying the paint in these thinner layers built up the colors into a more spontaneous and dramatic result.
