In Floral Bouquet II, I started the painting with a phthalo blue value study because I wanted to have more clearly defined shapes in the floral arrangement. I approached the larger orange and pink flower shapes first, then the white flowers, and I saved the intricate details in the stems and yellow flowers last for last. Painting the shapes around those flowers took a surprisingly long time.
